Application and Selection

Each year the MSU Department of Surgery receives many applications. Because of the number of applicants interviews will be granted selectively after the application deadline. Interviews will be granted based on the degree to which the applicants fit the academic standards and overall goals of the program. It is expected that applicants will be recent graduates, within three years of start date, of accredited U.S. or Canadian allopathic or osteopathic medical schools, or ECFMG certified foreign medical school.

All applications to the MSU Integrated Residency Program are made through the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS). Curriculum vitae may accompany but not replace the application. Letters of recommendation should be recent and from individuals who know the candidate well. Letters from surgeons are preferred.

Requirements for application include:

Apply through ERAS by November 1, 2007 - you may apply for both Preliminary and Categorical positions in the same application.
